She is quite all right, just feeling under the weather I would recon… she said with a smirk Proctor: Why, around these parts nowadays, there has been mention of witchcraft… Abigail: Oh my goodness! Not Betty, there was no sign of witchcraft around here. She is just scared that is all. Proctor: ...looking quite perplexed… What would this poor girl have to be scared of? Abigail: Us girls were simply dancing together last night, when my Uncle scorned us. Nothing to suggest witchcraft, just simply playing. Proctor: … snickering… You are most definitely the wicked on. Proctor intends for this conversation to end, as he begins to leave the room in which Betty resides. However, he does not take notice of the look of seduction that Abigail is gazing with. She attempts to grasp his attention once again, not giving up her act… Abigail: … grasping his arm… John! No, stay a while. Talk for a while, just for old times sake please… she says with lust in her eyes once again (Tool of a personal goal) Proctor: … shear anguish and exasperation fill Proctor’s thoughts… Abigail, I have told you many times. Those were all feelings and lust of the past, never something we need to dwell on. You simply must not make these advances ...his frustration rises… I came to investigate the sanctity of this household and of Salem, not for lust of a silly girl. Abigail: … As well, Abigail’s lust turns into frustration… Oh, do not be silly John Proctor! I know the feelings you have. I lay awake at night thinking of you. I have prayed for you, I know you must think of me too. Proctor: Abigail! What we had does not exist currently. Do not speak or think of it ...he says with a demanding tone… There will never be hope here, it does not belong to us. Abigail: I remember this way you lusted over me. I remember the way you touched me and sweated over what we had. I know you loved me, you have since I was kicked off by your wife Proctor: You have truly lost your sense. Abigail: Maybe I have, maybe I have not. However, I do know how you have felt. I have seen you around, I can sense it in the way you move. Proctor: … in confusion… Why, I have not been away from my home. I have been working hard days, never lusting contrary to your belief. Abigail: ...her voice beginning to crack in despair… I feel you coming John, I wonder my house for you. You must admit, you have glanced up at my bedroom, contemplating. I have seen you there. Proctor: I… feeling caught… may have been there, but young girl… Abigail: ...teary eyed with anger… Young girl?! You cannot call me such a thing, acting as if you have not once laid with me! Proctor: We have never touched! Keep that at a low volume young lady. I longed for you once, but we now will never touch. Do not keep hope for me any longer. Have you no respect? Do you know this is not correct to lust for a man under marriage? (Tool of value) ...anger filled within his tone… Abigail: We most certainly have touched! However, blame cannot only be passed unto me! You once pursued me, sweated over my presence, even in spite of that sickening woman of yours!(Tool of Blame) … persistent to obtain his perspective once more… Proctor: How dare you, my family is in no fault within our lust. We were never meant to be, admit you will leave this. Abigail: Not at fault?! Why, your dear Elizabeth has blackmailed me and spoken down on me all over Salem! … Abigail begins to sob, in despair, for her first love that she longs for a future with… Abigail: John! You have shown me the other side of life! I simply cannot erase what you have given me, nor can you forget what we once were! Proctor: ...he turns, leaving filled with anger, his head feeling hot....
